Jonathan Parks was invited to speak at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Rochester Hills. Michigan for our Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration in January of 2011. His presentation was timely, convincing, and powerful in delivery and style. His wit and sense of humor communicated a relevant message of working for peace and justice in theses times. He was able to capture the attention of his audience and left them with hope and challenged all of us to look within ourselves to make this world more humane. - Dr. Julius Delpino

This week's Detroit Best Friend

August 23rd, 2010 3:25 pm ET by Kai Mann

It is not often that you are privy to sit at the feet of greatness in the making but when you do, know that your steps are being ordered. I have nothing but great words for this week’s Detroit Best Friend who happens to have been a stroke survivor at the age of eighteen months and who has proven to himself and to others around him that he is more than that. This week we are shining the light on Jonathan Parks. Jonathan Parks an impact speaker, who works for Oakland University, is truthfully conscious and currently his presence in the community is understated. When I asked him who Jonathan Parks is, he says, “a Son, a Brother, an Uncle, a God-Father, a Husband, a seeker of knowledge, and an Educator; but outside of those things he is a regular guy who is going to use his God given talent to try to make a difference.”
